Penguins

Penguins have taken over Room 2! We learned all about penguins this week. We read informational texts, watched documentaries and read fictional stories about penguins. Here are a few of our activities.
We made these cute penguin addition problems.
More penguin addition facts and number sentences.
We labeled the parts of a penguin.
We practiced our sight words by writing sentences about penguins.

We did a penguin art project that will be on display at Winter Art Gallery next week! We plan to use QR codes, so come to Winter Art Gallery to find out what the QR code reveals!

Mitten

We welcomed in the winter season by reading Jan Brett's The Mitten and The Hat this week!
We acted out the Mitten! Look at all of those animals that fit into the mitten!
The students are anxiously awaiting their part from Mrs. McLean.
Manar was "The Hedgehog" from the story The Hat. She wore the hat and all of the other animals joined her.

Happy New Year!

We started out the new year with lots of snowman and winter activities!

We "rang" in the new year and talked about our New Years resolutions.

Larkin plans to be nice to her sister for the new year!

We read the story of Snowmen at Night and wrote about what our snowmen might do when it's nighttime.

We've been reviewing all of the letters we have learned so far this year and practicing writing our names including our last names!!

One fun activity we did to practice our last names is these silly "last name" snowmen.
